Berkeley High School Mountain Bike Team
Founded in 1998, the Berkeley High School Mountain Bike Team was the first high school team in northern California and has played a prominent role in the growth and advancement of junior cycling in the Bay Area. Since then, the popularity of high school mountain biking has grown steadily with more riders competing every year.
The BHS team competes against over 50 other high school teams in the NorCal and SoCal High School Mountain Bike Leagues. There are about five League races each year, beginning in early March and ending with the State Championships in mid-May. Many BHS racers also compete in races outside of the NorCal league throughout the year.
Regular practices start Tuesday, January 3
All riders meet at the BHS track at 4:15pm on Tuesday, January 3 at 4:15pm for running and core strengthening exercises. If you haven’t turned in your completed forms, bring them to this practice. Forms are required. Download below if you need them.
2011-2012 Rider Sign-up Forms!
All riders — new and returning — please fill out an annual sign-up packet. These are due before winter break, and can be turned in to Ms. Kavaler in room G304. Lots of important stuff, so get a head start on it so you’re ready to ride in January!
